Studio Apartment
DIY Project
Aug 2016 - June 2017
In the summer of 2016, I was given the opportunity to convert an empty shed at the end of a row of office buildings into a my own studio apartment.

Making a new doorway into the soon to be en-suite shower room.

Adding a stud wall in to hide all the plumbing for the shower.

After taking a few pallets apart, I tested the idea of using them as floorboards.

Turning one of the main walls into a mural

Some pallet pieces balanced on two pots of paint.

The footboard of the bed being reduced to give better access to the bed, which only just fit in the alcove.

With half the space carpeted, the crossover between carpet and floorboards was very important.

Using some old breeze blocks as weights as the glue dried under the boards.

A used breeze block and half a scaffolding plank creates a perfect side table.

Using a few disused scaffolding planks, cut to size to create a wall of shelves.

An old ladder cut in half with some rope holding it in place; using the rungs of the ladder to hang coat hangers on.

creating a bar style table.

Fabric from an old pair of trousers replaces the oil stained old fabric on the seat.
